Western Regional Virtual Care Clinic

The Regional Virtual Care Clinic (RVCC) provides:

• - Virtual primary care appointments for patients who do not have a primary care provider (physician or nurse practitioner).
• - Virtual visits through telephone, video to your home or video to clinic.
• - Video to clinic appointments supported by a healthcare professional and/or digital assessment devices available in some locations.
• - Registered Nurse support for primary care health navigation and case management.

If the virtual provider determines your needs cannot be met through our virtual care options, the RVCC staff will help connect you with a one-time in-person visit in your health neighbourhood hub site.

Please remember:

• - You must be a resident of Western Newfoundland.
• - You must be physically located in Newfoundland at the time of your appointment.
• - This service is for residents who are on, or eligible, for our Find-a-Provider waitlist. If you do not have a primary care provider, you may have your name added to our waitlist by contacting Patient Connect NL (see the link and contact information below).

Point of Interest: The regional Virtual Care Clinic also provides cross coverage for some Western Health position vacancies (short and long term coverage). If your provider/clinic is being supported by RVCC, please continue to call your home clinic to have an appointment arranged.

If you do not have a Family Doctor or Nurse Practitioner, or cannot access your regular Health Care Provider, you can call the 811 Health Line.

Virtual Nurse Practitioner services are now available 8am-8pm daily by calling 811 or using the 811 NL Healthline app free through the App Store and Google Play.
