Health Emergency Management

Health Emergency Management involves the development and implementation of mitigation/prevention, preparedness, response, and recovery strategies for an emergency event or situation that may impact any of Western Health's facilities.  Regional and site specific emergency response plans are tested and updated on a pre-defined schedule with emphasis given to the preparation and practical application of Western Health's Universal Emergency Codes.

The Health Emergency Planning Coordinator is primarily responsible for the planning, development, coordination and implementation of a Regional Health Emergency Management Plan.  Emphasis is  also given to  enhancing emergency preparedness links between emergency response agencies, government departments, non-governmental agencies, and municipalities with Western Health.
