Community Health Nursing completes a Preschool Health Assessment on all children between the ages of 3 years 9 months and 4 years two months. This assessment includes Vision and hearing screening, developmental testing, speech assessment, counseling about child safety, nutrition and behavior. Education about Immunization is provided.
Referrals are made when appropriate.
The nurse works within the Model of Coordination of Children and Youth to ease the transition from preschool to school entrance.
