Pastoral Care

Regional Pastoral Care Services supports Western Health in planning and implementing programs and services to address the pastoral and spiritual needs of the patients, residents and clients of Western Health. The Lay Pastoral Visitors Program is an established volunteer program at all sites.

The Regional Pastoral Care Advisory Committee provides consultation, support and feedback to the Regional Manager for Pastoral Care in addressing issues and concerns throughout the region and also provides a link with the Pastoral Care Allied Health Group (PCAHG) and The Canadian Association for Pastoral Practice and Education (www.cappe.org). Its composition is made up of regional Ministerial Associations and Pastoral Care Committee representatives.

Pastoral Care Services are active at each site throughout the region through a site Pastoral Care Committee. This committee provides oversight to orientation of new clergy and lay pastoral visitors, coordinates weekly inter denominational worship services and memorial services.
