Healthy Baby Clubs

Community Health Nursing has an active role with Healthy Baby Clubs. The community Health Nurse acts as resource person providing prenatal, postnatal and childhood education to the club. The Nurses conduct needs assessment with the clubs and implement education sessions to meet these needs. Topics covered may include child development, child safety, good family nutrition, and childhood immunizations to name a few. These education sessions are done as group sessions with follow up home visits when appropriate. Community health nurses are part of the advisory planning boards for healthy baby Clubs.
