To qualify for support services, individuals/families must complete a financial assessment.
The financial assessment will include a review of the following:
Income:
Money received by the individual/family including earnings, pensions, insurance, employment insurance, interest, rental and investment income, and other sources.
Assets
Liquid assets including cash on hand, bank accounts, bonds and securities, and other sources.
Expenses
Expenses including basic living allowance, rent/mortgage, fuel/utilities, employment expenses, and certain debts.
Depending upon a person’s income, assets and expenses, a person may be required to pay towards the cost of services. Western Health may provide a subsidy towards the overall cost. The financial assessment is reviewed on an annual basis.
