Western Health Experiencing Increased Demand for COVID-19 Testing
Due to recent public advisories in the region, Western Health is experiencing increased demand at its testing clinic in Corner Brook.
Western Health is increasing testing capacity, extending hours of operation, and adding to the number of staff working to meet this demand.
We want to advise residents waiting to access COVID-19 testing that due to the increased demand, some individuals may wait greater than the normal 24-hour turnaround time. We may prioritize some individuals based on the needs of the investigation. Western Health thanks residents for their patience during this time.
Residents who have symptoms of COVID-19 are encouraged to get tested and stay at home. To arrange testing, please complete the online self-assessment and referral tool available here or call 811. You will be contacted to book a COVID-19 test.
Western Health reminds residents of the importance of receiving their first or second COVID-19 vaccine. COVID-19 vaccination is available for all eligible residents, which includes everyone older than 12 years of age, at a Western Health clinic, participating clinic, or physician’s office. In addition to the walk-in and pop-up clinics, vaccination appointments continue to be available throughout the region. Please book online here or call 1-833-703-5470.
Everyone is reminded to follow public health measures. Practice good hand hygiene, wear a mask, stay home when sick and support employees to do the same, and follow provincial public health requirements and recommendations.
