Western Health Encouraging Residents to Get Vaccinated

Aug 27, 2021

An individual has recently been diagnosed with COVID-19 in the Western Health region.

The investigation is ongoing. This event, along with a fourth wave of COVID-19 being seen in many parts of the country, is prompting Western Health to remind residents of the importance of receiving their first or second COVID-19 vaccine. Although COVID-19 may occur in the Western Health region, high vaccination coverage will help protect individuals and communities.

COVID-19 vaccination is available for all eligible residents, which includes everyone older than 12 years of age, at a Western Health clinic, participating pharmacy, or physician’s office. In addition to the walk-in and pop-up clinics, vaccination appointments continue to be available throughout the region. Please book online please click here or call 1-833-703-5470.

Western Health also encourages residents to get tested and stay home if they have symptoms of COVID-19. To arrange testing, individuals are asked to complete the online self-assessment and referral tool available by calling 811 or clicking here.

Everyone is reminded to follow public health measures. Residents are encouraged to practice good hand hygiene, wear a mask, stay home when sick and support employees to do the same, and follow provincial public health requirements and recommendations.
