Update on Public Health Investigation for Piccadilly Area

Jun 15, 2021

Western Health would like to thank residents of the Piccadilly area for participating in community testing clinics for asymptomatic people this week. More than 200 COVID-19 tests have been completed. Based on our current information, public Health has not seen widespread transmission in the community. Testing for asymptomatic individuals has now ended in Piccadilly. All individuals who have been recently identified as positive have been the contact of a case; however, the initial source remains under investigation.

Western Health is strongly encouraging all residents to be vaccinated against COVID-19. Individuals over 12 years can book an appointment here.

Anyone with symptoms, even if mild, is strongly encouraged to seek testing. If you have any COVID-19 symptoms, please complete a self-assessment online or call 811.

If you completed a request for COVID-19 testing and do not have any symptoms, you will not be booked for a test at this time. If you were referred for testing for any other reason, and are not contacted within 24 hours, please submit a new referral online or by calling 811.

Everyone is reminded to follow public health measures including wearing masks, staying home when sick and supporting employees to do the same, practicing good hand hygiene, staying home as much as possible unless necessary for work and other essential activities, and following provincial public health requirements and recommendations.
