Public Health Investigation Update for the Codroy and Port aux Basques Area
Western Health is providing an update about the public health investigation in the Codroy and Port aux Basques area. Based on results from community testing and other information from the investigation, there does not appear to be transmission in the community. There will be no further community testing related to this investigation. While the investigation continues as to whether there was transmission in a school setting, it has been determined that if there was transmission, it was limited, likely due to the precautions in place within the school.
If you completed a request for COVID-19 testing and do not have any symptoms, you will not be booked for a test at this time. If you completed the online assessment or called 811 for a reason unrelated to this public health investigation (ex. Travel or flight advisory) and you do not receive an appointment for testing within 24 hours, please submit another online referral or call 811.
Western Health continues to provide COVID-19 testing throughout the region for individuals with one or more symptom. If you have any COVID-19 symptoms, please complete a self-assessment online or call 811.
Everyone is reminded to follow public health measures including wearing masks, staying home when sick and supporting employees to do the same, practicing good hand hygiene, staying home as much as possible unless necessary for work and other essential activities, and following provincial public health requirements and recommendations.
