New MRI Unit to be installed at Western Memorial Regional Hospital
Western Health is advising that new MRI equipment will be installed at Western Memorial Regional Hospital.
The MRI replacement project will begin this week and is expected to be complete within six months.
To ensure that there is no disruption to services, a temporary portable MRI unit will be in place during the installation of the new equipment.
There will be some parking spaces affected by this project on the west side of the hospital (next to the Medical Imaging Department). There will be three accessible parking spaces moved from the side of the hospital to the front of the hospital (see drawing below).
The current MRI unit at Western Memorial Regional Hospital is due to be replaced and the new equipment will be moved to the new acute care hospital when it’s complete.
