Western Health to Begin Seasonal Influenza Vaccination October 23 – Flu Shot Clinics Announced

Oct 18, 2017

Western Health is advising that the influenza vaccine (flu shot) clinics will begin on Monday, October 23. The influenza vaccine is one of the best ways to prevent influenza and reduce the complications caused by influenza.

The schedules for Public Health vaccination clinics can be found on Western Health’s website by clicking “Flu Shot Clinic Schedule” or here. You can also contact your local Public Health Office, or call the Healthline at 811 to find out when the vaccine is being offered in your area. Residents are reminded to bring their MCP card and wear short-sleeves when they receive their vaccine.

To further protect yourself against influenza, you should practice the three Cs: Clean your hands, Cover coughs and sneezes with a tissue or in the crook of your arm; and, Contain illness by staying home and resting.
