The Western Regional Health Authority is seeking the services of salaried Hospitalists. The Hospitalist position is accountable for the effective and efficient provision of medical care to patients at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook, Newfoundland and Labrador. Services provided include in-patient Hospitalist coverage and some out-patient follow-up of orphan patients outside the hospital setting.

Western Memorial Regional Hospital is a 217 bed regional referral centre for Western Newfoundland and provides services to a population base of approximately 78,000 people. We are affiliated with Memorial University of Newfoundland and Labrador Medical School and we encourage and support academic interests.

Qualifications Required:

Duly registered Family Physician with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Newfoundland and Labrador (CPSNL) and satisfy the credentialing requirements of Western Health's Discipline of Family Practice.

Hours of Work: 80 hours biweekly plus on-call obligations

Remuneration: The General Practice Salary Scale ranges from $151,591.00 to $181,912.00 as outlined in the current Memorandum of Agreement (MOA). The Department of Health and Community Services in accordance with Provincial Guidelines will officially determine a Physician’s step assignment with yearly progression thereafter.

An annual Retention bonus is offered in accordance with the current MOA. Additional benefits are available.
