Please be advised that visitation restrictions are in place at the Corner Brook Interfaith Home on the St. Luke’s Unit. A visitation ban is in place due to an outbreak of stomach flu-like illness in that part of the facility.
Western Health would like to ask for the public’s co-operation during this temporary visitation ban.
Exceptions for visitation may be made on a case-by-case basis for immediate family members of the terminally ill. Please contact the unit directly for instructions on how to proceed.
People who have had vomiting and diarrhea or other flu like symptoms are asked to refrain from visiting any of Western Health’s facilities. Individuals with any of these symptoms should rest at home, drink fluids, practice proper hand washing with hot water and soap, and if the symptoms persist contact their physician.
To prevent the spread of infection in any institution in the Western Health Region we ask the public to follow these simple steps:
· Only visit during regular visiting hours of 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Do not over crowd rooms. 2 visitors per patient is the limit.
· Wash/Sanitize your hands when you enter or leave any of Western Health's facilities.
· There may be times when you are asked to follow special precautions or instructions where you visit i.e. wearing gloves, gowns, masks or washing hands.
Western Health would like to thank you for your cooperation in helping prevent the spread of infectious diseases.
