Western Health would like to advise the general public that due to a State of Emergency declared in the town of Port aux Basques and the limited water supply to the LeGrow Health Centre, cancellation of all outpatients procedures at the Centre for the rest of today, Tuesday, January 20th, 2009 and into tomorrow will be continued.
Visitation to the facility continues to be restricted.
All 12 acute care patients in the facility are in the process of being discharged home or transferred to Western Memorial Regional Hospital or Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital for care.
As well, alternate arrangements are being made to provide care to the 27 residents in long term care. Those residents will be either temporarily discharged to family or temporarily transferred to another long term care placement within the Western region.
Western Health will continue to update the general public regarding the status of its operation at LeGrow Health Centre.
Western Health appreciates the support of the public and thanks them for their cooperation.
