Western Health Launches 2012 Healthy Aging Calendar - Jan 9, 2012

Western Health is pleased to release the 2012 Healthy Aging Calendar that features twelve seniors from the Western region. Western Health staff members and community partners were asked to nominate people who they thought conveyed healthy aging through three categories: Participation, Ambition or Involvement. A senior was then chosen to be featured each month.

“In the calendar we feature residents of our region who are great examples of individuals who are role models for living healthy active lives as they age,” says Kelli O’Brien, Vice-President of Rural Health and Long Term Care. “The calendar helps us to promote healthy aging and an age friendly culture. All of the nominees are committed volunteers who make various contributions to their communities in many different ways.”

The first Healthy Aging Calendar was printed in 2011 and was so well received, additional copies were ordered this year. The calendar can be purchased at gift shops throughout Western Health facilities for $3.

Western Health thanks all those nominated and featured for their willingness to participate in this project. The calendar can be viewed and printed by downloading a PDF on Western Health's website.
