Kinderguard Infant Security System

Infant security is an important aspect of your newborn's care. While abduction of newborns from healthcare facilities is a rare occurrence, at Western Memorial Regional Hospital, we have measures in place to prevent them. We have implemented an infant security system called KinderGUARD. This security system provides assistance by acting as a personal security guard for each infant born at our facility.

How It Works:

-  A transmitter is applied to the infant's leg immediately after birth.
-  When a transmitter is applied, it automatically becomes active, offering instant protection.
-  Transmitters "report in" every 7-10 seconds.
-  KinderGUARD straps feature technology that alert staff immediately if someone cuts, breaks, or tampers with a strap.
-  Transmitters are small, lightweight, and hypoallergenic. The adjustable straps are soft and comfortable against an infant's delicate skin.

Parents  are instructed to:
-  Never leave their baby unattended.
-  Never give their baby to anyone without proper hospital identification.
-  Never cut or remove the infant security tag.
-  Notify nursing staff if the tag falls off the baby's ankle.
