Mass Casualty Event


Paramedicine & Medical Transport is responsible for activating and managing emergency ambulance response during a mass casualty/mass fatality event, if deemed appropriate. We are available to assist the on scene Incident Commander by providing resources at the local/regional level, coordinating special resources such as volunteers and private contractors and assisting the Incident Commander in confirming that all necessary steps are taken throughout treatment and transport.

Paramedicine & Medical Transport currently owns three Mass Casualty Event Units which is available for use during a mass casualty event. These units are equipped with sufficient Basic Life Support (BLS) supplies for the triage and expedient emergency medical treatment of up to 50 victims.The units are stationed in Corner Brook, Stephenville and Port aux Basques. Included in each trailer is a Mass Casualty Incident Management Control System.
